Diana Fiedler, b. Góra, PL. MA from the Royal College of Art, London. MA and PhD from the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań (where She currently leads a studio).
Her work is characterised by a fusion of the biological and the industrial, and draws inspiration from organic bodies, mechanical objects and architectural fragments. Its main focus is on how architecture embodies physical and mental structures, and in how those structures bleed into our personal and social identities. In addition, the work addresses mechanisms of control and the influence of power structures and social systems on individuals and communities.
Recent projects also extend into the acoustic: Grounded in field recording practices, sound is approached as the flow of a fluid, resonant, and mutable material, that courses through the objects and environments that make up an installation.
